5) Movable Chord Shapes Compared to Standard Tuning

img-1

Moving on from the last lesson we can now learn the movable chord shapes in DADGAD in comparison to the movable barre shapes in standard tuning.

The first two of the chord shapes are nice and handy and great for beginners.

The second two chord shapes are pretty tricky and are intended for intermediate players… But even if you’re just starting out, give it a go and challenge yourself!

With practice you’ll be surprised at how fast muscle memory will make things click for you…

The chords I use in this video are F major, F minor, B♭ major & B♭ minor.

I then move up the guitar neck to show G, Gm, A, Am, D & Dm. The ‘DADGAD F chord’ and the ‘Standard F chord’ only differ on the low D string.

The ‘DADGAD A Chord’ and the ‘Standard A Chord’ differ on the high A string and high D string.
